EV charging in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston: what to know

Gapton Hall Retail Park sits on the Gorleston side of the River Yare, at the roundabout where the A12 and the A47 meet. That makes the Source EV hub an easy stop for drivers from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston-on-Sea and Bradwell, and for anyone heading west to Norwich on the A47 or south towards Lowestoft on the A12.

What to do while you charge

The hub is in the middle of the retail park, so a 30 to 40 minute rapid charge fits easily around a quick shop. There is a McDonald's for food, M&S for a coffee and groceries, and stores such as Boots, Next, TK Maxx, The Range, Sports Direct and Halfords. The Tesco Extra is just across the roundabout.

Charging on a trip to the coast

Great Yarmouth is one of the busiest seaside resorts on the east coast. If you are driving in for the day or staying nearby, it makes sense to top up here on the way in or on the way home, so you are not hunting for a charger on the seafront.

Which plugs work here

The ultra-rapid chargers use CCS, which almost every recent electric car supports. The 22 kW AC charger has a Type 2 connector. There is no CHAdeMO at this hub.

Driving on? Every Source EV hub in the UK and Ireland earns the same 2 points per kWh, in the same PowerGoodies account.

⚡ Charging speed

CCS up to 150 kW, plus a 22 kW Type 2 AC charger. How fast your car charges depends on the car and its battery.

💷 Prices

Source EV publishes current prices per hub on source-ev.com. With a roaming card, your card provider sets the price.

🕒 Opening hours

The chargers are available 24/7, every day of the year.
